Jeane Freeman MSP will be addressing delegates at Impact: the 3rd Health and Social Care Integration event.
The ALLIANCE are pleased to announce the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport’s attendance at this year’s Annual Conference. Jeane’s involvement in this event will be greatly anticipated and her knowledge of the health and social care integration landscape will be very welcomed.
Our conference will aim to represent the integration of health and social care in its approach, and will focus on the theme of ‘Impact’. Delegates will represent a broad cross sector of Scottish society with an interest in health and social care, including the third sector, health and social care providers and, most importantly, people who access support and services.
Jeane Freeman was born and raised in Ayr, she attended the Glasgow College of Technology and studied sociology and politics before establishing Apex Scotland, a criminal justice employment organisation. She was also a member of the Parole Board for Scotland.
Jeane chaired the National Waiting Times Centre Board and was a member of the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland.
In 1996, she was awarded an OBE for her services to the rehabilitation of offenders. Jeane was elected as the Scottish Parliament member for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley in 2016. Jeane Freeman OBE was appointed Minister for Social Security in May 2016.
