Discover the three core programmes in the Portfolio and the priorities the Scottish Government are taking forward.
On March 1 2023, the ALLIANCE and Scottish Government held an online event to share information about the Care and Wellbeing Portfolio, and to gather feedback from people with lived experience of long term conditions, disabilities, and unpaid carers, as well as representatives from the third sector, regarding the priorities of the Portfolio.
The Care and Wellbeing Portfolio is Scottish Government’s overall strategic reform policy and delivery framework within Health and Social Care, which is designed to improve population health, address health inequalities and sustainably improve the health and care system in Scotland.
There are three core programmes within the Portfolio;
- Proactive and Preventative Care.
- NHS Reform and Renewal.
- Place and Wellbeing.
Delegates at the event were invited to attend a more in-depth discussion on one of these topics, to engage in a conversation with colleagues from Scottish Government about how these programmes are delivered, the benefits of the programmes, and any barriers to work being carried out.
