Phil Donnelly wins prestigious award at the National Links Worker Awards in London.
ALLIANCE Community Link Worker, Phil, has been awarded Social Prescribing Link Worker of the Year at the National Association of Link Worker Awards 2022.
Phil, who is based at a GP Practice in Glasgow’s Southside, was shortlisted along with three other finalists, at the ceremony in London. On awarding Phil, the judges commented:
“Philip’s evident passion for his role and outstanding creativity, organisation, critical reflection, and personal development makes him a tremendous asset to his employer, team, people he serves, and communities. His collaborative and proactive approach means that he had an impact across the system and delivers excellent outcomes for the people he supports. He takes every opportunity and challenge in his stride. A worthy winner and an inspiration to link workers”.
The Community Links Programme was proud to have two other shortlisted finalists at the ceremony: Lorna Robertson for Social Prescribing Link Worker of the Year and; Nikki Smith, nominated for her partnership with Keppoch Medical Practice in the Social Prescribing Partnership of the Year category.
The 4th UK Annual Social Prescribing Link Worker Day celebrates and raise awareness of Social Prescribing Link Workers’ impact and role in transforming healthcare for All. The annual Link Worker Day conference and awards are key activities marking the day.
Social Prescribing Link Workers embedded into the NHS, health care can meaningfully reduce inequalities and social injustice, deliver proactive and holistic care to people and transform healthcare for all, which offers exponential benefits.
