The ALLIANCE Carer Voices project has changed its name to Person Centred Voices.

The ALLIANCE Carer Voices project has changed its name to Person Centred Voices to reflect its growing engagement work across the public sector; exploring the culture change required to embed more person centred practices within organisations and services.

Focusing primarily on health and social care delivery and leadership, the project delivers talks and workshops to health and social care professionals and students; public sector leaders and managers; third sector organisations; and government departments across Scotland, to drive improvement on person centred practices to benefit people, carers and families.

Watch Project Lead Tommy Whitelaw discuss the work of the project:

Project Lead Tommy Whitelaw said:

“Despite the name change, the heart of our work remains the same: listening to people, sharing stories of receiving or delivering care, and ensuring that kindness and compassion are a foundational element of our workplaces and communities.”

ALLIANCE Director Irene Oldfather shared her thoughts:

“This change for Person Centred Voices will allow us to take the programme to a wider audience, creating more ripples for change and improvement, and ensuring families, people and their stories are at the heart of policy and service design.

We will continue to ask the question integral to our work: “how can we change systems in positive ways and in ways in which we ourselves, can take ownership of the change?”. The projects outreach has been evidenced to deliver that system change, by asking people what matters to them, and listening to their voices as a catalyst for reflection and improvement.”
