University of Glasgow PhD research project into women's views on the best ways to stop gambling harm.
Have you been involved in activities to tackle the harm caused by gambling?
Or if not, do you still want your voice to be heard?
You might have joined, or want to join: panels; events; forums; conferences; training; services; campaigning; networking; consulting; social media posting ….
This research opportunity, with Fay Laidler a PhD student at the University of Glasgow, aims to:
- Explore the experiences of women from all walks of life who want their voices heard in gambling policy.
- Co-develop suggestions to on how to involve diverse women in activities to counter gambling harm.
Who can join?
Woman over 18 living in England, Scotland or Wales whose:
- Life has been impacted by gambling, either as a gambler or where someone close to them has gambled;
- Have views on how women can influence policies to tackle damage to lives caused by gambling.
What would I need to do?
- Take part in an informal interview at a time best for you, taking about an hour.
- Give (optional) feedback on the design of the research.
- Receive compensation of £85 for your time and contribution to the project.
Confidential peer support is offered throughout your involvement.
What happens to my data?
This research is confidential. You will be kept anonymous and your personal details kept private.
You will be able to read what you have said before it is published.
You can withdraw your participation and data at any time before the end of the research without explaining why.
