The ALLIANCE has submitted a response to the Scottish Government consultation on the new Digital Strategy for Scotland.
The Scottish Government published a public consultation on updating the Digital Strategy for Scotland (this link will take you away from our website). As we move to an increasingly digital world, the way in which people in Scotland are living their lives is being transformed. The impact of COVID-19 accelerated the pace of digital innovation, including in the third sector. The refreshed Digital Strategy promotes a collaborative approach across central and local government to design and deliver services which meet the needs of the people who use them.
The ALLIANCE welcomes the emphasis placed on collaboration and joined-up working. To ensure a positive and equitable Digital Strategy exists for all in society, we have outlined three key principles which we believe should be applied to the wider digital landscape, including that of digital health and social care provision. We recommend an equalities and human rights based approach; collaborative, transparent links and partnership working with the third sector; and meaningful co-productive approaches to ensure the voices of disabled people, people with long term conditions, unpaid carers, and people with experience of digital exclusion are at the heart of the Digital Strategy, action plan and services.
