Carer Voices publishes flash report on series of Intelligent Kindness development sessions delivered to Social Security Scotland staff
From September 2020 to March 2022, the ALLIANCE’s Carer Voices project in partnership with Social Security Scotland (this link will take you away from our website), delivered over 70 digital learning and development sessions, based on the principles of Intelligent Kindness, to 1,700 colleagues across Social Security Scotland from Modern Apprentices to Senior Civil Servants.
ALLIANCE National Lead for Caring and Outreach, Tommy Whitelaw, hosted sessions based on the importance of person centred care, self-care and active listening to individuals all over Scotland and shared key messages from the ALLIANCE’s ‘You Can Make A Difference’ campaign, the What Matters to You movement (this link will take you away from our website), and from Scotland’s Chief Nursing Officer.
The flash report incorporates feedback from Social Security Scotland colleagues who participated in the sessions, and was collected through an internal evaluation survey and by reaching out to teams for personal reflections. Social Security Scotland colleagues spoke positively on the impact the sessions had on their work, practice and personal life, and the new perspectives they gained as a result. You can download the report in PDF format below.
Social Security Scotland has since established an Intelligent Kindness cross-organisational working group and are a registered organisation for What Matters to You Day 2021 on 9 June.
Intelligent Kindness sessions can be delivered to any organisation, across sectors. For more information and to book a session email carervoices@alliance-scotland.org.uk
