ALISS continues to help people find and share information about community assets and services that can support health and wellbeing.
This year, the ALISS programme published a refreshed strategy for the period 2025 to 2028. In working towards its strategic goals, the ALISS team have continued to progress with the implementation of a product roadmap.
More Data
As part of ongoing engagement, the ALISS team have participated in a range of events and meetings throughout the year to raise awareness of ALISS and to build and maintain partnerships locally and nationally with stakeholders.
We have also provided training to key individuals on adding and editing in ALISS. For more information and examples of recent ALISS engagement activity, visit our News page ofon the aliss.org website.
Better Data
Processes have been put in place to quality assure data held in ALISS include automatic annual email prompts to users, there has been weekly scanning of site content, as well as and ongoing manual data cleansing. We also continue to deprioritise services that have not been reviewed in the last 12 months.
Through regular engagement and training sessions, ALISS we encourages organisations to ‘claim’ their own data on ALISS so that they have control and responsibility for it, helping to ensure that the information is kept up to date.
More Users
Our engagement and partnership work also continued to raise awareness and increase the number of people accessing ALISS information, either directly through the aliss.org website, or through other platforms displaying ALISS data.
This year, in addition to further technical developments to the existing ALISS API that allows organisations to utilise ALISS data, we launched a new configurable map tool which enables organisations to develop customised maps using ALISS data, that can then be easily embedded into their own websites.
Our marketing and communication activity also continued to promote use of ALISS. As well as posting regular content through ALISS social media accounts on Facebook and X, we ran advertising campaigns on Facebook and YouTube, as well as a TV advertising campaign on STV, to help raise awareness of ALISS among the general public.
Our engagement at a national level ensures that ALISS is being integrated into national infrastructure and policy. ALISS is represented on the Scottish Government’s Digital Front Door Delivery Board, ensuring that ALISS will form part of the roadmap for the MyCare.scot system.
Better Experience
ALISS takes a human centred design approach, which involves continuous improvement of the functionality of the ALISS system based on regular user research, feedback and testing. We adhere to recognised design and accessibility standards and continue to improve and promote accessibility features within ALISS.
Better Insights
This goal focuses on enhancing analytics and reporting on key ALISS metrics to provide transparency and demonstrate value delivery. A key step towards this goal was the launch of a new ALISS Analytics Dashboard. The Analytics Dashboard is publicly accessible via aliss.org and provides information about content and activity on ALISS.
Initial feedback on the dashboard from stakeholders has been positive and we are aware of examples of it already being used by different organisations to inform business cases, contribute to project reporting, and support evaluation activity
