The ALLIANCE has co-signed Samaritans Scotland's call for change.

The ALLIANCE has joined organisations across the sector to support Samaritans Scotland’s call for urgent, preventative action to improve the lives of people in Scotland.

The letter urges candidates to put prevention, fairness, and wellbeing at the heart of their work in parliament by committing to:

  • A Minimum Income Guarantee to strengthen social security.
  • Investment in early and community-based mental health support and ensure people who access public services receive earlier, joined-up support.
  • Declaring reducing loneliness and social isolation as a public health priority.
  • Supporting the workforce and volunteers who deliver care and connection.

Together, these actions can not only help people in crisis but help create a Scotland where fewer people are pushed into crisis in the first place.
