Participate in a study into family or carer outcomes after critical illness (FOCUS), led by the University of Cambridge.
The Family or Carer Outcomes after critical illness (FOCUS): a core outcome set development study is being led by a team at the University of Cambridge, who are looking to develop a core outcome set for family members of adult critical care survivors. To do this they are asking people to complete two surveys. They are including previous patients, family members, researchers and clinicians.
Survey One: You will be asked for some basic demographic questions to make sure that we are including a diverse group of people. You will then be asked to give your opinion (using a scale from one to 10) on the importance of different outcomes for family members of adult survivors. They are excluding families and survivors from paediatric and neonate groups as they took advice from their public partners who suggested that a different group of measures might be more important. Similarly, they are excluding bereaved family members, as again, their journey is different.
Survey Two: Using a standardised process, they will look at the outcomes which were deemed to be the most important in survey one (from the results). They will ask participants to give their opinion (using a scale from one to 10) on the outcomes which remain. This survey will be very short.
To participate you must agree to complete both surveys and agree to being contacted to complete the second survey.
