The Scottish Government is developing a national social prescribing framework to make it easier for people across Scotland to access the right support and community-led activities, alongside health and social care services, to stay well.
Social prescribing helps people find local support, activities and services in their community that can improve their health and wellbeing. This support can include:
- money, housing and welfare advice
- social activities and meeting people
- arts, culture and physical activity (for example, a local arts festival, a museum or football club)
- participation in local groups and community-led action.
Your feedback will help shape a national social prescribing framework, ensuring future services and support are shaped by the people who use them.
There is still time to have your say. To join the conversation and ensure that future services and support are informed by the people who use them, complete the short online survey before 24 September. Please note that this link will take you away from The ALLIANCE website.
The views shared through this engagement will help shape the framework’s development. Further engagement will then take place with stakeholders from across health, social care, community and voluntary sectors, as well as academia and community link worker networks, with a final framework to be published in late spring 2027.
Further support:
Recognising that online engagement is not accessible to everyone, a limited amount of funding, of up to £500, is available for organisations to help facilitate participation from groups who may face barriers to taking part. For more information, please contact PAWSecretariat@gov.scot.
