ALLIANCE Live round up 2023
- Area of Work: The ALLIANCE

ALLIANCE Live has captured impact and innovation within health and social care, and collaborated closely with voices of lived experience.
Throughout the year, ALLIANCE Live continued to produce compelling content, foster partnerships, and capture diverse narratives. All in the aim of supporting the ALLIANCE’s programmes of work to share impactful stories highlighting examples of good practice and innovation in health and social care across Scotland.
The programme started off the year supporting the Audiology Review. By providing robust digital communications support, ALLIANCE Live assisted in the effective promotion and engagement of this time sensitive activity and ensured that key audience groups were able to participate in the process.
The Equally Valued podcast remained a significant platform for dialogue around issues of the moment within health and social care in Scotland. As part of the Digital Gathering 2023, the podcast dedicated a special video recorded episode to spotlight the impact of the fuel crisis on societies most vulnerable.
Throughout the year, ALLIANCE Live embraced the return of in-person activities, seizing the opportunity to travel throughout Scotland and capture compelling case studies. From Stranraer to Inverness, our team documented examples of good practice and impact within health and social care, bringing to light inspiring stories that may help our audiences in their own delivery of care and support.
Our involvement in longer-term projects, such as the National Collaborative, began and will continue into 2024. These ongoing initiatives are set to culminate in a comprehensive documentary of the engagement process, providing valuable insights into the projects journey and eventual impact on policy and service delivery with regards to human rights-based approaches.
Internally, our studio emerged as a focal point for a variety of digital content projects. Notably, the ‘Getting to Know GIRFEC’ series complimented the available GIRFEC training modules and hopefully increase individuals’ understanding of the GIRFEC approach and its practical application.
Central to our content creation process was the commitment to working with the voices of lived experience. A key example of this was collaborating closely with a Macmillan Transforming Cancer Care Peer Evaluator in crafting a short video that provides guidance to health professionals on supporting visually impaired individuals throughout their cancer journey. The Peer Evaluator worked with staff to design the script and filming plan for the video, before starring in the video itself. They then played an instrumental role in the editing process to ensure the video was accessible.
The culmination of the year saw several videos being used in presentations at ALLIANCE events. The decision to feature videos during the agenda demonstrates how stories presented through digital media can reinforce and solidify the messages and aims embedded within the work of the organisation and its partners.
