Women affected by mesh removal procedure will be offered a case note review and the ALLIANCE will assist in co-designing the review process.
The Scottish Government recently announced (this link will take you away from our website) that women affected by mesh who attended the First Minister’s meetings in November 2019 will be offered a case note review.
The ALLIANCE have been invited to work with women with lived experience to co-design the case note review process. The case note review intends to give women the opportunity to set out their concerns about treatment and then examine this with clinicians alongside their notes.
We will be hosting a co-design event in early March to gather input from women with lived experience.
Health Secretary Jeane Freeman MSP said:
“The case note review will hopefully give these women the answers they require about their situation and follows on from our commitment to a Complex Care Review Service and a £1m Mesh Injured Women’s Fund to support those affected.”
