Dementia Care UK and Leeds Building Society are working together on a closer to home project for family carers.
Compassionate one-to-one support and practical solutions for people looking after someone with dementia are available. Free bookable appointments with an Admiral Nurse over Zoom or on the telephone are being offered by Dementia Care UK in association with Leeds Building Society.
This inaugural project was planned to be deliver by a bus travelling around the country, with COVID-19 restrictions getting in the way, the service is coming to you by way of a virtual bus. This unique mobile support service brings dementia care closer to home. Families living with dementia will now be able to access practical, emotional and clinical support from a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, at a dedicated time and place that suits their needs.
If you’re caring for someone living with dementia you can book an appointment with an Admiral Nurse, in confidence. Admiral Nurses have the skills, knowledge and experience to talk about, amongst others:
• understanding the diagnosis, plus practical tips and advice for caring for a loved one with dementia
• transition into nursing or residential home, or stays in hospital
• understanding symptoms and changes in behaviour, and managing your own feelings
Please visit Dementia Care UK Closer to home (this link will take you away from our website) to book your appointment.
