Have you been affected by cancer? Do you live in Dumfries and Galloway? Our focus group could be the one for you
The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE) is working in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and Dumfries and Galloway Health and Social Care Partnership to improve people’s experience of the cancer journey.
We want to ensure that new cancer services meet the needs of people from Dumfries and Galloway by asking ‘what matters to you?’ The information we gain will help inform the design of new cancer services both locally in Dumfries and Galloway, and nationally across Scotland.
We are offering both online and face to face focus groups. We want to know what has worked well in the past and what you would like to see from cancer services. Most importantly, we want to make sure that cancer services meet your needs.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for people from Dumfries and Galloway who are living with, or who have been affected by cancer through someone they know, love or have cared for. We would prefer if your experience was in the last ten years to reflect current cancer care services.
We would like to invite you to take part in a small group discussion with around six other people. The discussion should last no longer than 90 minutes. Taking part is entirely voluntary.
Focus group dates:
Our focus groups will be conducted between 11th January 2023 and early February 2023.
Online focus groups
Our online focus groups are open to anyone from Dumfries and Galloway that has experience of low income or has lived in a remote and rural location while being affected by cancer.
Face-to-face focus groups
Our face-to-face focus groups are open to anyone from Wigtownshire or North West Dumfries.
