Have your new say to help develop the 'Being a partner in my care: Realistic Medicine together' app.
Healthcare Improvement Scotland’s Right Decision Service is planning two engagement workshops to hear your views, thoughts and feedback on a new app ‘Being a partner in my care’. This app aims to provide people with the tools and resources which enable citizens and healthcare professionals to work collaboratively in making decisions about your health and healthcare experience, based on what matters to you.
Who is the workshop aimed at?
People who want to encourage and support Realistic Medicine in Scotland’s health and care. This is a new approach to delivering care which brings citizens and healthcare professionals together to make decisions that:
- Are based on the individual needs and views of each person
- Help people to understand their choices and to take an active part in discussions about their care
- Encourage people to promote good health and prevent ill health in the future
- Make best use of healthcare resources to deliver the care that matters to people
What will the workshops involve?
At each workshop, we will look at a new digital resource which Scottish Government and Healthcare Improvement Scotland have developed. This resource is called ‘Being a partner in my care.” It provides tools and resources for healthcare professionals and citizens to use together so that they can make decisions based on what matters to each individual.
You can access this resource as a website and as a downloadable mobile app. During the workshop we will:
- Introduce the aims of Realistic Medicine and how we hope this digital resource will support these aims
- Discuss how well the resource currently supports the aims of Realistic Medicine
- Share feedback from initial testing with members of the public.
- Present suggested improvements to the resource to respond to the feedback so far.
- Ask for your views on whether we should go ahead with making these improvements, and on any other improvements that would be helpful in delivering our aims.
The workshops will be held on MS Teams. You will only need to attend one of the workshops:
An initial version of the app has been developed based on feedback from the first round of consultations. We would now like to get your input on how to make the app as useful as possible. The initial version of the app is available through the Right Decisions for Health and Care platform as a website and as a downloadable mobile app.
If prompted when downloading the app, click on “Install” to install the Right Decisions app.
Open Right Decisions and you will be taken to your toolkit automatically. When you next open the RDS app you will find this toolkit saved in the My toolkits tab.
