Telecare users across the UK are encouraged to contact their network providers ahead of the digital switchover.

The launch of the National Telecare Campaign on Monday 2nd June was the most recent step in preparing the nation for the switch of the telephone network from analogue to digital. This is a once in a generation change to the UK’s landline infrastructure with network providers, community organisations and the UK Government committed to working together to ensure that telecare users are supported through this change.

The national campaign is driven by a collaboration of BT, VMO2 and the UK Government delivering a clear call to action for Telecare users across the UK:

Telecare users and/or carers are advised to contact their landline provider as soon as possible to ensure details are correct and up to date.

It’s important to inform providers if you/someone you care for uses a telecare device. By landline providers having this information, they’re collectively able to ensure uninterrupted access to the telecare service that’s used, throughout their upgrade to a digital landline.  Some customer may have already been contacted by their provider to ensure that their details are recorded.

A Partner Toolkit has been created by the collaboration to support the launch of this awareness campaign. This includes various resources as well as guidance on how to use them, in order to amplify the campaign locally and nationally through your own communication channels.

The resources in the toolkit can’t be used after 31 August.

The ALLIANCE is encouraging citizens to contact network providers ahead of the transition planned in Scotland over the next 18 months. Our engagement is committed to continued awareness raising.
