The ALLIANCE is pleased to publish a visual resource in support of the Scottish Government’s Women’s Health Plan.
Menopause is a natural event and transition that women experience, however, the timing and symptoms are different for everyone. Most women will experience menopausal symptoms and for some women, they can be really severe and have a huge impact on their lives. For more information on menopause visit NHS Inform.
Women have reported feeling unprepared for the impact menopause can have on their life – including their work life, home life, self-esteem, confidence and sex life – and their physical and their mental health.
The ALLIANCE’s visual resource for menopause, published in partnership with the Scottish Government, provides insight into the diversity of menopausal experience to support women to feel better informed and confident in raising their experience with friends, family, partners, colleagues and GPs.
This publication brings together three graphic resources that were produced to summarise the discussions of webinars on menopause, hosted by the ALLIANCE and Scottish Government in support of the Scottish Government’s Women’s Health Plan. The graphics present central points raised by panellists, as well as key themes identified by audiences.
In this resource you will find graphics related to:
• Menopause Mythbusting
• Menopause and the Workplace
• Menopause, Sexual Wellbeing and Relationships
You can download a digital version of the resource here.
Print resources are available on request. Should you be interested in using the resource in print, whether than be alone or with a group, then please email whp@alliance-scotland.org.uk
The graphics were created by Clare Mills of Listen Think Draw.
Notes
It’s not only those who identify as women who will experience menopause. Some transgender men, non-binary people and intersex people or people with variations in sex characteristics may also experience menopause.
