Professionals and members of the public are being asked to take part.

Health Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) are carrying out a UK-wide project to understand how patients and the public are involved in decisions about how health and care data is used beyond direct care. This includes data for research, service planning, evaluation and improvement.

HQIP are asking the following groups to complete the survey:

Professionals – if your role involves the use, governance, commissioning or delivery of health and care data, including supporting patient and public engagement (PPIE).

Members of the public – if you are a member of the public already involved in activities such as advising, decision making, governance, or public engagement around health data.

There is also an online focus group for members of the public to share their views in more depth. This will take place on Wednesday 6 May, 10.30am – 12.00pm. To attend and for more information, please contact  PPIEinhealthdata@hqip.org.uk.

By taking part in this survey, you can contribute to a national picture of what’s really happening in practice, including what works well, what doesn’t and what needs to change. Your input will :

  • Identify what meaningful involvement looks like in practice
  • Surface common challenges and barriers
  • Highlight opportunities to strengthen involvement across the UK

The survey will take ten minutes to complete and all responses are anonymous and will directly inform national insight and future policy and practices.

You can read more about how your data will be used and protected on the HQIP Privacy Note.
