The Self Management Awards ceremony took place in Edinburgh on 20 September 2023.

The Winners of the ALLIANCE’s annual Self Management Awards were announced at a ceremony in the Radisson Blu in Edinburgh’s Royal Mile.

The ceremony was hosted by Laura Boyd and attended by Gillian Mackay MSP and Jenni Minto MSP, Minister for Public Health and Women’s Health, and included speeches from the MSPs along with Darren Crocker, Winner of Self Management Champion of the Year 2022, and Sara Redmond, Chief Officer of Development at the ALLIANCE.

The Self Management Champion of the year was won by Michelle Howieson who is known for her unwavering commitment to empowering and inspiring others through 25 years of dedicated volunteering.

Empowering Self Management Project of the year winner is Children’s Health Scotland’s Self Management Skills (SMS):HUB a project that fosters camaraderie and self management among young people aged 9-17 living with health conditions across Scotland.
