Public Health Scotland – Equalities data workshop
- Area of Work: The ALLIANCE
- Type: News Item
- Published: 15th March 2023

Share your thoughts on what is needed to improve the collection of equalities data, and specifically ethnicity data, in health services.
The Covid-19 pandemic highlighted that equality data, and particularly ethnicity data in Scotland is often incomplete. This has implications for how well services, including our health services, can adapt to support the communities they serve.
Public Health Scotland are inviting you to attend their workshop to share your views on how the collection of equalities data for the communities that you work with can be improved. The workshop will be led by Public Health Scotland, Homeless Network Scotland, and Strathclyde University. An overview of work that’s been carried out with people representing the nine protected characteristics within the Equality Act 2010 will be shared. This workshop will open up a dialogue with you about how health services can better support the people you work with.
