ALISS and Glasgow Community Food Network
Our Engagement Officer Amber, spoke with Mark, Sarah, and Rebecca from Glasgow Community Food Network (GCFN). ALISS and GCFN have been working together to develop a local food map showing Glasgow’s free or low-cost community food services. You can find out how the map is helping GCFN to make fresh food more accessible and available by watching Amber and the team in the video below.
ALISS in Wowland
Something special unfolds at Glasgow’s Byres Community Hub once a month. The Wowers – the spirited women of Weekday Wow Factor – join Hub volunteers for a tea, a chat, and a drop-in session focused on community connections. This welcoming space offers more than refreshments: it is a place for support, rediscovery, and connection.

ALISS in Action
Every year in September, the ALLIANCE celebrates Self Management Week to highlight self management activities across Scotland. As part of this, our Engagement Officer Amber gave a presentation on how ALISS can support individuals in the community to better self manage their health and wellbeing.
Self Management is a way of living and working that means people living with long term conditions feel more in control of their own health and wellbeing. It supports people in living their lives better, on their terms.
In the short video below, Amber explains how to find resources in your local area.
