Community, Engagement and Partnerships

We work in partnership with a wide range of organisations and communities across Scotland.
ALISS, a local information system for Scotland, helps people find and share information about groups, services, activities and other resources that can support health and wellbeing.
This includes people who want to use ALISS as a tool to find information, either for themselves, or for signposting and social prescribing purposes. It also includes people who want to share information such as groups and organisations that wish to promote their own services and activities, or groups and individuals who are gathering information through community mapping activities.
ALISS brings this crowdsourced information together in one place within the ALISS database and in turn makes it available through the ALISS website. The ALISS database can be used to power other digital platforms as well and we also work in partnership with organisations providing their own directories, websites, apps and other systems to help them make use of the ALISS data. Through this collaborative approach, we aim to improve how information is distributed, making it simpler for people to find the support they need.
What we do:
- Information sessions: Our ALISS sessions are designed to help individuals and organisations understand how to make the most of the platform.
- Training for Prospective ALISS Editors: We offer training sessions for individuals or organisations interested in becoming ALISS editors. This training helps people learn how to add and update information to the platform, ensuring that their listings are current, accurate, and easy to find.
- Toolkits and Resources: ALISS provides a variety of toolkits and resources that help organisations and individuals make the most of our platform. These materials offer practical guidance on everything from adding services to creating collections.
- Networking and Learning Events: ALISS regularly attends networking and learning events, where partners can come together to share experiences, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for further collaboration.
Ways to Get Involved:
- Add Your Services to ALISS: Share your health and wellbeing services to reach more people and promote your activities.
- Join the ALISS Info Sharing Network: Become part of our network to share ideas and feedback with others on how ALISS is helping your organisation.
- Asset Mapping: Help us map the services and resources available in your community to make them easier to find.
- Build a Customisable Map: Create a tailored map of ALISS services and resources and add it directly to your website for easy access.
- Case Studies: Partner with ALISS to showcase your work in one of our case studies, featured on our social media, Alliance Live YouTube channel, and blog posts.
- Integrate ALISS Data: If you have your own website or system that provides health and wellbeing information, you can integrate ALISS data directly into it. This makes it easier to provide up-to-date, reliable information about local services, all in one place.
