Long Covid Lived Experience Network
A network for people affected by Long Covid who want to influence national decision-making.
The ALLIANCE co-ordinates a network which brings together people affected by Long COVID from across Scotland to inform the design, development and implementation of Long COVID services at local and national level.
The network helps inform the National Strategic Network for Long-Term Effects of COVID-19 which was established in February 2022 to support local NHS Boards and Health & Social Care Partnerships to deliver services for people with long COVID.
If you would like further information about the network, or have any questions, please get in touch at longcovid@alliance-scotland.org.uk.
To join the network, complete the below network joining form and if you are comfortable to do so, the equality monitoring form and email them to longcovid@alliance-scotland.org.uk
Lived Experience Network Outputs
The network launched a survey in September 2022 to collect information about individual’s experiences of Long Covid in Scotland, and what their priorities for service design and provision in Scotland. You can read the insight report produced from the information shared within the survey here.
In February 2024, following a further online survey and focus groups, we published our report “Accessing Long Covid services in Scotland: to be believed, listened to and supported”. This was shared widely across the National Strategic Network for Long-Term Effects of COVID-19 to inform their decision-making.
Our network members have also contributed their experiences and views to influence a wide range of developments, including the initial drafting and review of a Self-Management Workbook for people affected by Long Covid; and the development of new resources to support people’s return to work.
We’ve also recently worked in partnership with a research team at the University of Stirling and the ALLIANCE ALISS Team to develop a map of services across Scotland for people affected by Long Covid. You can access the service map below, or go to https://www.aliss.org/ to search other services in your area.
