Pasna Sallis, Founder, Weekday WOW Factor and Digital Citizen Panel member
Pasna Sallis is a HCPC Registered Public Health Occupational Therapist with 20 years experience working within NHS Scotland to design and deliver occupational therapy interventions across demographics, geography and services. Her Passion lies in Brain health & Prevention as well as Living well with Dementia, applying occupational therapy principles for local communities online and in person.
Pasna’s start up public health NHS project in 2009 led to recognition by the Scottish Government as they launched Scotland’s 1st National Dementia Strategy with 70 older adults with and without dementia participating. This project continues to thrive.
Pasna recognised some key gaps in the community and believed if you get it right for people with dementia then you get it right for people to prevent dementia due lifestyle factors such as inactivity and loneliness and therefore to enhance brain health. This applied the same activities such as a therapeutic daytime disco or walk. Pasna is an expert in Co-design and Co-adaptation to assist in breaking down barriers for communities to enhance participation and potential towards Healthy Ageing for All.
